VAT TIN Number, meaning and sturucture


TIN acronym of is Tax-payer Identification Number. I is unique identification number allotted to every sales tax(VAT) registered dealer across India.
TIN is allotted by sales-tax(VAT) department of state/union territory in which the dealer is registered. It is 11digit number ending with V or C.
The first two digits of eleven digit represents the state in which the dealer is registered. The digits for various state/union territory are as under:
